Some Important Exercises .......!!!

Here are few exercises for vocal cord :-

1) Deep Breathing (through Diaphragm)-- Inhale from your nose and exhale from your mouth. But slowly .

2) Voice modulation ( aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa for 6 seconds eeeeeeeeeeeeee ... oooooooooooooo ....... uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu all at a higher pich .. than a bit lower and than only breathing and again slowly slowly go higher )

3) Vocal exercise ( Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapple .... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelephant .... strech the staring sound of every word for 6 seconds and than without stopping speak out the remaining part of the word softly )

4) letters on which you stammer most
Ka, ba, ma, pa, sa,Ta
Like ka…….,kaa…….,ki………ku……….ke…..,ko……….

5) Counting exercise
Say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5(1-5) in a breath (remember prolong 1st letter i.e v of one).you have to do counting upto 100 (1-5, 6-10….21-24, 25-28…96-100)

6) Slow reading practice ( Mmmmmmy naaaaaame iiiiiiiiiis Maaaanpreeeeeeet / iiiii aaaaam frooooooooom jaaamuuuuuu )

You can Practice each exercise for about 15 mins a day.

u r welcome frnd .......Actually these exercises are benificial .....but the techniques are the important thing which we can use in our daily conversations ........
So dont forget to apply those techniques too....

Except above all techniques, I want to add one more exercise, which I am practising from january2010. After watching Hritik interview related to stammering, I thought that Hritik is practising one hour daily but what I m doing to overcome it. Then I started reading PAATH of SUNDAR KAND(in hindu religion in Raamaayan one chepter which takes almost one hour) by SPEAKING LOUDLY either in home or in temple or in hostel as it is part of worship, no body bother if u speak loudly. And as its reading in some specific tone, so no body stammer.
Even in sikh religion also one PAATH, which can be speak loudly.
Actually reading one hour without stammering changed my whole mindset. really great thing. Just start any Religion any PAATH one hour. and see U turn from stammering.

Just start SUKHMANI PAATH daily.
in sikh religion it is and take almost one hour. Make habit it to do sukhmani paath daily for WHOLE LIFE. within 2 month u'll see redical change in stammering problem. Writing in blog easy. But for stammerers it is wastage of time. Do PAATH loudly either in home or in temple or in hostel. And see result.

hello manpreet i stammer iam 13 years old i tried to stretch the words but i could not make the first sound of the word streching is great help for me but i could not make the first sound my feared words ar t words

manpreet paji thaxxx for making this blog,it is a very good intiative u have taken,on thing i would like to add that in stammering, u should not be fear of any one just assume that the other person is ur friend,just make a control over ur brain,and start the first word very slowley and make the coversation in a very calm way and u should have confidence in urself and faith in urself,that i can speak slowly..and FEEL LIKE A TIGER...

@Hemant - Yes Sukhmani Sahib is perfect for this... or any other path or prayer will also do. I do Sukhmani Sahib daily... May be thatz the reason behind my improvement... but not to forget the techniques.

@Anonymus - If you get stuck in speaking out even the first sound... try techniques such as Bouncing and Light contact.

Hi manpreet,its good u ve posted all these techniques,but would like to tell u that,for some people this slow reading and first letter prolongation helps,i ve seen my friends who stammer severly when they speak slow,so their speech therapist has told them if they can speak very fast without stammering,they can follow,even i had the same problem,now started to talk fast and i feel i dont stammer much,without any breaks i can complete one sentence.

If you stick some earplugs or cotton wool in your ears, that might reduce the severity of your stammering.

I spent rs 5000 on speech therapist. They told me only dat speak slow,prolong the word and take long breathe and vowel practice

Can you give me some tips on my stammering problem please.

I feel like I don't have stammering. But here is my case. When I have to say something such as a sentence, I speak fluently as if stammering is not my problem at all, but when someone doesn't hear properly and I have to repeat that sentence, that's when I stutter. The way I speak my second sentence seems like iI stutter. I don't know why I stutter or do not speak fluently in my second repeated sentence. I just get embarrassed saying repeated sentences and I don't why but I hate it so much. So is it my social anxiety or stammering. And because of that, I feel like I stutter on words such as A and especially U and T. It has been happening to me since last two or three years. And when I ever speak to my boss, sometimes I speak so fluently as if nothing is happening to me and when I start thinking about it, that's when my stutter or speech disorder starts. I FEEL LIKE MY FEAR IS GROWING EVERY DAY AND THIS HAS LED TO MY STAMMERING,

I KNOW THIS IS WEIRD KIND OF STAMMERING, BUT I REALLY WANT TO FIND A CURE FOR THIS. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

hello friends. i am also a stammer. but my problem is atleast 20-30%. i think about this all the time..i was also in depression regards to this problem. i want to suggest some sort of help to you.."stammer is not in the mouth,stammer is in the brain" so stop thinking about stammer. speak slowly and comfortably.. if we all want to cure this we have to help each other. so my idea is all of u give yours mobile no. and we share our problems on phone by personally contact and learn something better about the problem.and also we make a whatsapp group and share our views that will help us..so i will give my mobile no. first. my name is naveen garg and my mobile no. is 8872111372..somebody please make a whatsapp group for our better future...gbu
